Front cover: Fhos2, a novel formin-related protein, expresses in heart, kidney and brain, and exhibits an actin-organizing activity. This protein localizes to the nestin intermediate filament, but not to other cytoskeletons such as desmin, another intermediate filament. Fhos2 may link the nestin intermediate filament and actin microfilament. For details see the article by Kanaya et al. (pp. 665–678) in this issue.
