About the Cover

Cover Figure

Front cover: Xenopus embryos were injected without (middle panel) or with mRNA encoding a protease-deficient form of caspase-10β, at the equatorial area of two dorsal (left panel) or two ventral (right panel) blastomeres at the four-cell-stage. The embryos developing to stage 45 displayed abnormal phenotypes, the shortened trunks association with edema (shown by arrow) and the abdominal constriction (arrowhead), respectively. For detail see the article by K. Kominami et al. in this issue (pp. 701–717).
