Front cover: K. Ohta and colleagues previously showed that histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor trichostatin A (TSA) increases immunoglobulin (Ig) gene conversion frequency in the chicken B cell line DT40. In this issue they report that HDAC2 deletion is sufficient to increase the Ig gene conversion frequency. In addition, effects of HDAC2 deletion and TSA treatment are additive. These results suggest that other HDACs might involve the control of Ig gene conversion. For detail, see W. Lin et al. in this issue (pp. 255–268).
