Front cover: Spindle pole bodies (SPBs) are usually localized to both ends of spindles in fission yeast (left panels). In spo20-H6 mutant defective in the glycerophospholipid-transfer activity, SPBs become unstable during meiosis and split off extra bodies which are not localized to the spindle poles (right panels).
